Verdine White was with his brother Maurice from the beginning around 1968 right after the salty peppers. Verdine is probably one of the most serious bass players ever, check out his riffs on "Pride' from the "Faces" LP. Verdine Learned from or was mentored by Louis Satterfield a member of the band's Pheonix Horns.

Family: His brothers, Maurice and Fred White, were both drummers. As you probably already know, Verdine White is the brother of his band mate, and founder of Earth, Wind, and Fire, Maurice White (pictured 3rd in above pic), as well as the brother EW&F member, Fred White (second from left in below photo). Their parents had a total of 10 children! That’s a whole lot of people in one house!
